A Little About Me:

Bridging the gap between corporate and entertainment brand development, Corey Crismon brings a youth-savvy, grass-roots approach to mass marketing – and a cutting-edge branding prowess to pop culture. He specializes in addressing the coveted “Generation Y” demographic everywhere they go, from events at L.A. Unified School District high schools to mobile phones to social-networking sites.

His wide-ranging initiatives have enabled him to work with such high-profile figures as NBA great Magic Johnson; pop stars Britney Spears, Justin Timberlake and Jessica Simpson; and supermodel Tyson Beckford, among many others. He has excelled as a TV producer, marketing consultant and brand strategist, and strives constantly to find new ways to extend, expand and re-imagine his clients’ brands.

Born in Nashville, Tenn., Crismon moved with his family to Los Angeles at age nine. He was smitten with show business from an early age, but also drawn to the rebellious energy of hip-hop. Even as he held down an array of marketing jobs, his immersion in youth culture was always foremost in his mind. “Eventually I meshed my marketing knowledge and my street knowledge,” he says. “I believe that’s my core value.”

He joined the TV production house Sweet Lorraine Productions as an assistant and rose up through the ranks, eventually masterminding the weekly syndicated urban series N’Gear, which aired across the country. Hosted by Tyson Beckford, the show gave viewers a behind-the-scenes glimpse of the urban fashion world and featured such luminaries as Russell Simmons, Tommy Hilfiger, Jay-Z and Mark Ecko. Another series, Crismon helped develop, the innovative music-variety program Video Hot Mix, that would air on Spike TV.

“Working in TV helped me understand every aspect of marketing and creating a brand identity, from casting hosts to choosing sponsors,” he reflects. “But I was able to drive the direction of the show because I understood the culture.”

Next came a stint as West Coast Marketing Director for the boutique entertainment branding and marketing agency NVU Productions, where he took on the marketing of books by Britney Spears and Jessica Simpson, among other projects.

2005 saw Crismon help launch 3Mill Entertainment, working with SEAP events at California schools to generate astonishing increases in awareness, Web traffic, and ring tone/voice tone revenue for his clients. His newest entity, CDM Entertainment, serves a wide assortment of entertainers, retailers and service providers. “I’m reaching out to corporate brands that are looking for ways to attack this generation Y culture,” he points out. “I’ve worked on these issues from every possible angle, so I’ve got a lot of ideas.”

No one other than Kobe Bryant deserves MVP of the NBA. If he doesn't win, that means the people who didn't vote for him are HATERS.
